Description:
We are a small charity that provides a neutral, safe and secure child-friendly venue for children affected by relationship breakdown - this enables them to maintain contact with the parent and family members they no longer live with or see. Contact also extends to wider family, grandparents/cousins etc.
It is widely documented that children from separated/divorced families who maintain contact with both parents/wider family have better outcomes in life; this includes (but is not limited to) things such as improved well-being, self-esteem and confidence, improved mental health and educational outcomes. It can even help children manage their own relationships as they go into adulthood.
We are a supported child contact centre based at Edgbaston Community Centre, Birmingham and are open every Saturday.
There is no cost to use our service and we accept referrals from within the city of Birmingham and the wider area.
Referrals can be made by parents/guardians/social workers/solicitors/other professionals etc.
Please go online to our website www.birmccc.org.uk or call us on 07477 752900 if you have any questions.
We can also be found on Facebook - Birmingham Child Contact Centre - look for our logo (drawn by one of our children).
