In hope to spread awareness about social isolation within the disability sector. Jackie’s Drop-In (JDI) is a social Centre for adults with all forms of disabilities. JDI has now been running for 10 years, our opening times are 11am-3pm Monday to Friday (except bank holidays), we charge £10 entrance fee for the 4hr visit and the £10 enables the member to access all areas, we have 9 activity rooms inside and each with a different activity, with no set times in the rooms so they can swap and change to do which ever activity they would like to do during their visit.
All these rooms & activities are included in the £10 entrance fee…….

Every Thursday 1pm-3pm there is music therapy in the canteen with Johanna (includes musical instruments)
We do lots of other things throughout the year including parties/discos, day trips, allocated seasonal crafting sessions plus much much more. We have also started introducing some surprise activities to enjoy.
All our volunteers are DBS checked and the relevant training is given. If the member does require a PA/Support, we do advise they come along with the member free of charge.
We also think that safety & security is paramount to everyone that visits the Centre, so we have added over £18,000 of CCTV that has been fitted in every room that is accessible.
Some are unaware that JDI is a self-funding Centre that receives no direct funding from outside sources including HCC. Also, the first visit to JDI is FREE.
