Description:
We support young people who live, learn or work in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We offer counselling, education and training and work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, recovery from abuse, family problems, relationship difficulties and many more.
Counselling
We provide free and confidential BACP accredited counselling for young people aged 11-21 in Milton Keynes. We work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, recovery from abuse, family problems, relationship difficulties and many more. The Initial Meeting is held before counselling begins so that young people can discuss any questions they may have about counselling and to make sure that this is the right service at the right time for their needs. Our counselling service is a BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Accredited Service. This means that our counselling service has demonstrated a high quality of delivery, meeting benchmark standards for counselling and psychotherapy provision maintained by ongoing assessment. In addition, BACP Accredited Services work within the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018). Our volunteer counsellors come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and qualifications. They use a variety of counselling models, but all are well versed in working with children and young people in a humanistic, brief solution focused manner. You can find out more about types of counselling from the BACP website. "Counselling young people is a real skill and we are privileged to have such a range of high quality volunteers to provide the type of service our young people need and deserve" - Gareth Eglinton-Pacitti, CEO
Education & Training
We deliver high quality, engaging and interactive mental health and wellbeing workshops in schools and workplaces from bitesize sessions to full day workshops. Our specialist Wellbeing Trainers are skilled to deliver a variety of topics such as Mental Health Awareness, Workplace Wellbeing, Self-Esteem & Confidence and Stress and Anxiety strategies. More information can be found on our Education and Training pages. Antonietta who heads up the Education and Training team says, “We want every person to feel empowered, inspired and motivated to live their healthiest and happiest life. We aim to raise the awareness of mental health to help reduce stigma and discrimination.”
