This page has been set up for our NEW HUT APPEAL. We have raised £26,000 from donations and fundraising events so far.
SCOUTING begins at the age of 6 at Beavers, and then moves onto Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts up to 18 years old. Potten End is a real success story. From almost closing 10 years ago, it is now one of the strongest groups in the area with over 100 members supported by an excellent team of leaders.
However, our current hut is more than 70 years old, its wooden structure has been heavily used far beyond its useful life, and as it is being attacked by woodworm and rot, it is beyond sensible repair.
OUR CHALLENGE is to provide our current and future generations of Scouts with a new purpose built hut within the next three years. A long term lease has been agreed with Potten End Parish Council on the cricket ground's playing fields, building permission has been passed, and building plans have been agreed, drawn up and costed.
WE NEED TO RAISE £275,000.
Your support is essential to us and we would be grateful for any donations large or small. We have a fundraising team which is busy approaching major organisations and grant bodies for support, but we need your financial help to achieve our goal.
Please either donate online here, or send a cheque payable to "Potten End Scout Group" to Peter Collins, Chairman, 1ST POTTEN END SCOUT GROUP, Milby, Browns Spring, Potten End, Hertfordshire HP4 2SQ.
If you pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that Potten End Scout Group reclaims from your donations in the tax year (currently 25p for each £1 you give), then please
include the following declaration with your cheque:
I wish Potten End Scout Group to treat my donation of £ as a gift aid donation.
