Description:
The Emerald Centre (formerly known as The Leicester Irish Sports and Cultural Association) is based in Gipsy Lane, Leicester. The site is leased (25 years) from Leicester City Council. The Emerald Centre?s primary role is to meet the needs of the local community, particularly those people who are most in need. The centre also offers excellent sport and social facilities. The centre is open 7 days per week and delivers a wide range of training and community development programmes. The innovative and dynamic new multi purpose centre has replaced the old dilapidated building and provides a focal point for the local community. This is used as a base for delivering an increased range of other community capacity building services for the area, in order to improve the quality of life for local residents. Other services include community safety initiatives, social events, and employment-related training and advice, and youth services. This expanded range of services builds upon our traditional strengths in the provision and management of sporting activities.
