My story
This May, I’m taking on 100 Miles in May for the second time. After completing the challenge in 2024, I knew I had to do it again.
I’m aiming to raise £100 in support of SKCIN and Melanoma Focus, two charities doing vital work in skin cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and Ireland, yet it is also one of the most preventable. Did you know that 9 out of 10 Melanoma cases are preventable? That’s why education and awareness and education are both so important.
Through their work, the SKCIN charity also provides the MASCRED accreditation, which educates professionals on skin cancer awareness, how to recognise abnormalities, and encourage early medical referral when something doesn’t look right.
In an industry where I see people’s skin every day, this knowledge can save lives. Early detection makes a huge difference, and this education helps ensure professionals have the confidence and training to act responsibly.
If you’re able to donate or share, you’re helping support charities that empower both the public and professionals with knowledge that saves lives.
