100 miles in May Skin Cancer Charity
Lauren Pennington is raising money for Skcin and Melanoma Focus
My story
After my mum being diagnosed with malignant melanoma when I was only young to being diagnosed myself while pregnant with my little boy, skin cancer has always unfortunately been part of my life in some way or another. Luckily I was educated by my mum and caught it early.
After my diagnosis last year it occurred to me there was little awareness and minimal research compared to other cancers. Skin cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers. It is preventable and can be treated in most cases if caught early enough.
I have recently had further surgery on my foot linked to my skin cancer journey however, despite this I will committing myself to 100 miles in May to raise money for these two charities.
