I am running at 10k for Beacon for Rare Diseases

Event date: 30th April 2023

Juliet Rowe is raising money for Beacon for Rare Diseases

My story

On Sunday 30th April, I will be running GEAR 10k in Kings Lynn. I am fundraising for the rare disease patient group Beacon. I have worked alongside Beacon for years and have seen first-hand what an amazing, hardworking team they are. The impact they have had on rare disease patient groups is extraordinary and inspirational.

Rare diseases affect between 3.5% (263 million) and 5.9% (446 million) of the global population. Sadly, this population struggles to receive a diagnosis, treatment or meet another with the same condition. Patient groups are a lifeline for those living with a rare disease. They provide emotional support and advice for day-to-day living. Patient groups are the impetus behind new care pathways and treatments. Beacon helps those groups be the best that they can be.

Every penny raised will go towards patient group training, creating a rare community and helping rare disease research.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Beacon for Rare Diseases.

My updates

Just ran 7k! I ran it in a hour and feel sore but accomplished.

I’ve slowly been increasing my runs since January and the next few weeks I’ll continue running 7ks. Then I will increase this to 8k then I’ll be ready to run 10k!
