Shane's 14 Tough Mudders
Shane Martin is raising money for Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide
My story
Just one Tough Mudder is not enough. I will be tackling no less than FOURTEEN Tough Mudders this summer and raising funds for Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide, a charity enabling essential surgery for people in poor countries.
5 billion people worldwide lack access to affordable anaesthesia and surgery. As a result, millions die and suffer disability. SAWW works to change this and enable life-saving treatments for the world’s poorest people.
Each Tough Mudder is a 10-mile run over 25 obstacles that include giant ice baths, electric shocks, climbs, leaps, tunnels, trenches, trapezes, tightropes, mud, mud and more mud! Your support will help me through a total of 140 challenging miles and 350 gruelling obstacles. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who supported me over the summer. It was a great challenge and I am proud to have completed 10 Tough Mudders, despite various unexpected difficulties along the way. I plan to continue my Tough Mudder journey next year. Watch this space!

Tough Mudder London West completed. Never done two back to back before and came in quicker on 2nd day at 3hrs 25 mins. Enjoyed the banter on the way round . It kept me going! My pals are absolutely amazing and couldn't of done it without them!

Due to cancellation of the two events in Scotland, my challenge is now 12 Tough Mudders instead of 14. Hope you will still support me.

Tough Mudder Scotland 3-4 July was cancelled just 12 hours before the event was due to take place. So my 460 miles drive from Devon in just under 9 hours was all for nothing! I helped out at the event to pack up before I left. Spent some time with a small handfull of the Tough Mudder community. Surprisingly kept moral high and in good spirit, showing that even in bad times we can still laugh and smile about things. Now to get myself prepared for London west in two weeks.
