Ciaran McErlean is raising money for DEBRA
DEBRA came to my attention after watching Graham Souness (talking through his amazing swimming challenge) and an incredible little girl called Isla Grist chat through her condition, epidermolysis bullosa (EB) – butterfly skin, on BBC Breakfast. I was deeply touched by this, saddened by the really cruel nature of this condition yet inspired by the resilience of this little girl, so vowed one day to step up and try to raise some extra funds for this wonderful charity.
So, here we are! During 2026 I'll be running 6 half marathons, starting with the Reading Half on Sunday the 22nd of March. I've ran for charity before but this is a little different, as it's pretty constant throughout the year and will require me to maintain fitness and focus (whilst nursing a pretty dodgy knee). I'm in the midst of planning the other 5 runs and will keep this page (and socials) up to date to let you know how I'm getting on and where/when they are.
It would be fantastic to reach this target by the end of Dec, so all I'm asking is every so often, instead of treating yourself to a cheeky flat white, pop onto this page and donate £5 (London coffee prices), or whatever you can, and let's see that total grow together. Hopefully this will go some way to helping those who live in daily pain which prevents them from leading a normal life that we so often take for granted. Thanks everyone and see you on the other side.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto DEBRA.
