24-Hour Hospital Cycling Fundraiser for BurnAid and UHB Charity

Our story
From 0800 on 28th October to 0800 on 29th October, a dedicated team of military nurses—primarily from the Burns & Plastics Cadre at RCDM—alongside NHS colleagues from University Hospitals Birmingham, will undertake a 24-hour static cycling challenge in the hospital atrium.
Throughout the event, participants will cycle in shifts, ensuring the wheels keep turning non-stop for the full 24 hours. In addition to the cycling challenge, our team will host burns prevention and first aid information stands to educate staff, patients, and visitors on essential safety practices.
All funds raised will be equally divided between:
- BurnAid: Supporting patients and families receiving care at the Birmingham Burns Centre.
- UHB Charity: Funding projects and equipment to enhance care and improve the experience for patients across University Hospitals Birmingham.
Every mile we cycle helps to raise awareness about burns care and prevention, while also supporting charities that make a meaningful difference to our patients and their families.
