30 for 30 Relay Walk for White Ribbon Day

This year I am helping to organise, and taking part in the Phoenix Domestic Abuse Services 30 hour relay walk to raise awareness of domestic abuse and its devastating consequences - particularly on children.
The number '30' has been selected as the number to represent the number of children referred to Operation Encompass in Gwent every day!
Operation Encompass is a partnership project which aims to ensure children in a household where there has been a domestic abuse incident are recognised and given the support they need.

This event is also the first in a series of 20 events to mark the 20th year of Phoenix DAS' operation. We are a local charity set up to support families affected by domestic abuse.
Since 2002 the service has received more than 8000 referrals and provided direct support to many victims, children and interventions to perpetrators who want to change their behaviour.
