500 Miles For Shopmobility

In 2027, I’m taking on a challenge that is going to push me both physically and mentally — I’m going to run 500 miles throughout the year to raise money for Shopmobility York.
Shopmobility York is a charity that means a lot to me personally, because I’m not just supporting the charity — I volunteer there too.

Through volunteering, I’ve seen first-hand the difference Shopmobility York can make to people’s lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of something that helps people enjoy greater independence and make the most of their time in York.
That’s why I wanted to do something more to support the charity. So, rather than simply putting my trainers on and going for the occasional run, I’ve set myself the challenge of running 500 miles in 2027 — that’s over 800 kilometres! 🏃‍♂️

There will definitely be days when I don’t feel like running, when my legs are tired, or when the weather is absolutely miserable. But knowing that every mile is helping raise money for a charity I care about will hopefully give me the motivation to keep going.
I’m hoping that my challenge will raise some much-needed funds, but also help spread the word about the fantastic work Shopmobility York does.

So here’s to 500 miles, countless pairs of running shoes, plenty of determination, and hopefully a fantastic amount raised for a charity that is very close to my heart. ❤️
