Abi's London Marathon Fundraising Page

I am so excited to have been offered the opportunity through Tuff Fitty Triathlon Club to run the 2026 TCS London Marathon, for the incredible charity Links International!

I am a part of Tuff Fitty Triathlon club, which has helped me develop my love of exercise, and I now swim and run daily. My Social Research Apprenticeship has developed my confidence and growth, along with providing many learning opportunities. These parts of my life have pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me learn more about myself and my interests, as well as deepening my want to help create change. I am running for this charity to raise money to provide other people with opportunities I was able to have.

My family have been my biggest inspiration. My dad has shown me anything is possible, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, he could no longer run, but started cycling, and now averages 100 miles a week.  I would not be running this, if it were not for my mum who helped me get into running - the most hard working and motivated woman I know. This runs through the genes...my Grannie fought a hard battle with cancer, and watching her pass away last year was heart-breaking. But her determination, strength and self-belief showed me anything is possible! So why not run a marathon?

Links International is a charity close to me, not only that the head office is just down the road... but through the aspirations the charity works to achieve. Based in Littlehampton with offices spread around the world, their work holds such value, not only in the UK, but across the world, including South America, Africa and Asia. Links International aims to support people in poverty, with tools and resources needed to help them thrive.  This support extends to educational settings, employment support, community healthcare, and developing other charities, with the church supporting a lot of the work they do. I work for the Institute for Employment Studies, a research organisation which connects well with Links International, the same focus with the same goal; to understand society to shape and drive change.
