Adrian's trek to the source of the River Ganges

Event date: 18th October 2019

Adrian Roebuck is raising money for Kamla Foundation

My story

I have always enjoyed hiking in and around the UK and in recent years I have expanded my interest abroad into Europe, Africa and Asia. I am part of a group who get together on a regular basis for weekends in the great outdoors and have taken to undertaking a major trek abroad every two years. In 2015 we met on a trek to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro. In 2017 we organised a trek to Everest Base Camp. And for 2019 we all agreed a trek in India featured at the top of our collective bucket lists!
I have supported the Kamla Foundation once before when I trekked Kilimanjaro in 2015. To once again support this charity in the country where people benefit from the work done, made for an obvious choice for further fundraising!
This is one of the most iconic treks on the Indian sub-continent. The itinerary has been put together in a way that we will be in the Himalayas and at the Sources of Ganges during the five days of Diwali when there will be a greater cultural intensity!
I am self-funding the whole of the trip. This will mean that every penny raised in sponsorship goes towards the work done by the Kamla Foundation.
