Raising money for the first Disabled children's Centre in Afghanistan
Event dates: 14th September 2017 – 14th March 2018
Callum Stubbs is raising money for Afghanistan & Central Asian Association
My story
The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) are looking to raise £5,000 to put towards establishing an assistance centre for disabled children in Afghanistan.
The centre will be based in the city of Pul-e-Khumri, Baghlan province. The ACAA will be drawing on their previous experience running two successful citizens advice centres in Afghanistan funded by DFID.
The centre will aim to help 100 physically children a year and will provide:
- Physiotherapy
- Disability focus legal support
- Mobility equipment including
wheelchairs and crutches - Doctors appointments
- Education Support and employment
workshops - Training courses
Update
We have recently secured a grant of £12,400 towards this project as well as over £1,000 from street fundraising.
We are over 20% of the way towards our overall target
