Alastair Thornton is raising money for The Lord's Taverners
After 7 years of applying to take part in the London Marathon, with the intension of raising money for charities that are closer to home and to my heart. I have been given the amazing opportunity to take part in the marathon to raise money for The Lord’s Taverners.
The Lord’s Taverners is a fantastic charity which enables disadvantages and disabled children to access sport, to develop their physical and emotional wellbeing. It also encourages diversity within sport and is breaking down barriers to ensure that everyone is given equal opportunities.
I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to raise money for such a fantastic charity, and would appreciate any support you can give.

Hi all.
Just finished a 16 mile run in the pouring rain. 2:33:33. Happy with that.
So far the money raised will fund 170 children with disabilities to attend the super 1’s for a month.
Let’s get that to 200 children.
There are over 40 people who donated on here.
So what I’m asking for is £5 each.
Another £5 will be over £200!!!
And if you think about it. It’s only one less pint…
