Kirsty & Cheryl are going alcohol free for the month of January to raise money for Northamptonshire autism charity En-Fold

When our little boys were diagnosed as autistic we felt totally lost, unsure of what this really meant for our little boys or our families, and unsure how we could support our son’s needs. We were both desperate to learn as much as we could about autism and what we could do to give our sons the best opportunities to be happy and fulfil their potential.

We were both fortunate enough to be signposted to En-Fold. En-Fold is a Northamptonshire based charity supporting families where 1 or more family member is autistic. They offer 4-6 sessions covering a range of topics to parents/carers of children with a diagnosis or on the diagnostic pathway. En-Fold's sessions include information about what autism is, how to support sensory needs, supporting your child during a meltdown, assistance with form filling, how to apply for support your child is entitled to and the education health care plan process. Whilst each session covers a set topic, each one is tailored to understand the needs of your individual child. These sessions provided both of us with the knowledge and practical help we needed to begin to support our boys and En-Fold continue to be available to offer us advice as and when we need it.

We wanted to do something to support this wonderful charity and have therefore committed to going alcohol free for the month for the month of January in return for sponsorship to help raise funds to enable more parents and carers to benefit from the support En-Fold can offer.
