My story

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.

As many of you will know, animals hold a very special place in my heart. I have lived with cats (along with a good few hamsters, some of whom would have given Houdini a run for his money) all of my life.

In 2017, I started volunteering as a dog walker at Danaher Animal Home, and saw the truly amazing amount of care and effort that the staff (and volunteers) put into looking after every single animal that came into their care, be it dog, cat or small animal. I've seen for myself how animals who have been badly mistreated by animals learn to trust again as a result of the love and care shown to them by the staff and volunteers.

In 2018, my husband and I rehomed two gorgeous cats, Lord and Lady (now Knox and Bailey) from Danaher. They have given us so much happiness (along with lots and lots of cuddles), and I feel so fortunate that Danaher brought them into our lives.

I'd like to do something to thank Danaher for the love that they poured not only into Lord and Lady, but the thousands of other animals who have successfully been rehomed by them over the years. As such, I've taken on the slightly daunting challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the Manchester Marathon in April 2023. I've run half marathons before but have never run a marathon so the Manchester Marathon will be a first. I'm both excited and slightly terrified by the thought of running 26.2 miles in one go.

Any money donated will help to ensure that Danaher is able to continue the invaluable work that it does for all of the animals that come into its care.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this page. Any donation will be very much appreciated.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Danaher Animal Home.
