Ana Runs for Simon Says

I wanted to do something meaningful for children and young people with my running - combining two things which are important to me.

Simon Says is a small Hampshire based charity supporting children and young people who have been impacted by the death of someone important in their life. You can find out about the work that they do on simonsays.org.uk/.

Throughout 2018 I have committed to running 1,100 km and taking part in a range of events. No milestone this year as a couple of years ago - firmly entrenched in my mid-forties and getting ever slower round the streets of Romsey so there's nothing to celebrate...

So far I have committed to taking part in:

28/01/2018 - Romsey 5 Mile DONE - in 48:39 - very pleased with this result!

04/02/2018 - Portsmouth Coastal Half Marathon DONE - in 2:17:25 - chuffed to bits with this one too (given the terrain this has felt like a real achievement - and the fifth half marathon I've completed!)

08/04/2018 - Salisbury 10 Mile DONE - in 1:47:41... bit slow, walked up the nasties, still not recovered from a bout of evil flu a couple of weeks ago. But it's in the bag. Need to find some more races...!

22/04/2018 - ABP Southampton 10k DONE - in 1:06:32... Hideously hot!

13/05/2018 - Lymington 10k DONE - in 1:03:22... a great run alongside the sea wall with stunning views. No records broken but good to know Southampton was a heat-related anomaly!

09/09/2018 - New Forest Half Marathon

30/09/2018 - Windsor Half Marathon

I'm sure there'll be a few more events along the way. Nothing longer than a half marathon for anyone willing me to take the plunge... FYI, I did enter the VLM ballot, didn't get a place, and feel very zen indeed about the outcome...
