Anna Harris is raising money for Cricket Without Boundaries
Using my experience as a cricket coach, medical student and cricket umpire I will organise chaos and fun for children across the 2 countries to participate in sport and learn more about self-esteem, safe sex, body positivity and women's health. Some of the children who have been part of a CWB coaching programme have gone on to represent their country in their national cricket side!
Cricket Without Boundaries has 3 main goals
1. Empower communities
2. Coach children and train adults
3. Link the game to messages and action on health and social issues
Every penny raised goes directly to the charity - I have no access to the funds!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Cricket Without Boundaries.

Fed up of the rain and grey skies?
So am I!
Here is a photo of the group I'll be going out to Rwanda with, where we will be visiting Kayonza, Nyagatare and Kigali.
Thank you for all donations made so far and please help to spread the word of CWB!

Happy 2025!
As some of us make resolutions and nurse some sore heads, it's a good time to update everyone on the project!
We will be visiting Lira, Kumi and Mbale in Uganda (Rwanda itinerary tbc) and thanks to your donations we are over a third of the way there!
As well as donating cash, please get in touch if you have any spare/old kit you'd be willing to donate - perhaps you just got some new kit for Christmas?
Also cricket clubs - does your lost property need clearing? I volunteer!
Final request: lots and lots of tennis balls please!!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy 2025
Thanks,
Anna

Why am I going here for my medical elective?
Healthcare provision varies across the globe and visiting these countries will enable me to experience many new cultures, and impart some basic but vital public health information to children across Rwanda and Uganda.
I will also have the opportunity to attend some clinics whilst in Rwanda to learn about how they deliver healthcare in their country so I can take stock of my privilege and learn key skills from Rwanda clinicians.
Being a native English speaker I am fortunate to be able to communicate with the vast amount of patients I come across, so being unable to speak the native tongue of my patients will be a challenge to overcome and test my nonverbal communication skills. I will take these learnings into my working life to enable and empower those accessing healthcare who may not speak much/any English to receive and engage with the care they deserve.
Also, cricket is my main passion outside of medicine (see photo!) so the opportunity to combine my 2 main passions was too good an opportunity to pass up!
