Anna is raising money for Harrogate & District Community Action

My story

I'm raising funds for Harrogate and Ripon CVS who do great work supporting local charities and volunteers. My big challenges for 2014 are 2 half marathons and a mile swim in Lake Windermere, plus I hope to add a few more shorter races in between. Up first is the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 23rd - a fairly flat course around my adopted home town. Once that's over I can start panicking about the swim in June, although I'm not looking forward to the wetsuit purchasing experience! I'll be keeping this page updated with my progress. You can read more about Harrogate & Ripon CVS here harcvs.org.uk/About

25th March - Liverpool half completed on Sunday, a massive 21 minutes faster than my previous half marathon! I didn't sleep well the night before as it was raining heavily and the forecast was that the rain was set to continue all morning. We arrived at the start way too early, it was very cold and windy and we took refuge on a baggage bus with other runners. I then met up with some friends for a photo before we made our way to the start. The rain thankfully held off and the sun came out to make the run lovely up until the last 4 miles which took place along then Mersey with a headwind all the way. I was very glad to see the finish line and be given my medal and Tshirt. My official time was 2:05:40 which means I will be aiming to complete the Great North Run in under 2 hours!
