Bacchus Tribute PATnic

Event date: 30th September 2023

Wagdale are raising money for PETS AS THERAPY

Our story

#Help Us Celebrate the Joy of Pets as Therapy at Our Fundraising PATnic!

Welcome to our fundraising page dedicated to supporting Pets As Therapy (PAT), We invite you PATnic on the 9th of September, where we'll celebrate the incredible impact that PAT dogs, like Bacchus, have had on the lives of many. For those who are unable to attend, we sincerely appreciate your generous donations to support this very worthy cause.

Founded in 1983 Pets As Therapy is Europe’s leading charity providing Animal Assisted Interventions.
Our vision is to ensure everyone in the UK, no matter their circumstances, has access to the companionship of a friendly pet. To enhance the health and wellbeing in local communities through the visits of dedicated volunteers with their temperament assessed pets.
In the UK we currently have 4000 registered dogs and 30 registered cats. We visit in care and nursing homes, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals hospices prison and many, many more places !

Demand for our service outstrips the number of volunteers available. As a result we are continually trying to encourage more people to join us.

PAT receives no Government funding and relies entirely on donations.

Bacchus, a beloved PAT dog, held a special place in the hearts of both his owner, Michael, and the many individuals he encountered during his regular visits to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Sadly, earlier this year, Bacchus crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and countless smiles. His presence brightened the days of patients, staff, and visitors alike, bringing joy and comfort to those in need.

On the 9th of September, we will be hosting a PATnic filled with fun, laughter, and heartwarming moments. The event will be a celebration of the invaluable work done by Pets As Therapy and an opportunity to honour the memory of Bacchus. We will have various activities for all ages, including games, treats (for both humans and furry companions), and, of course, the chance to meet some of our incredible PAT dogs.
If you are unable to join us for the picnic, we kindly ask for your support through a donation. Your contribution, what ever the amount, will go directly to PAT to enable them to continue their community work.

· £3 donation pays for one PAT visit
· £25 we can assign a volunteer to a one off visit into a residential care home.
· £50 we can access and register a volunteer for school visits.
· £100 we can place a PAT Team into a hospital.
