Be Melanoma aware

**UPDATE**

I completed the 100 miles with a combination of running and walking.  It was tough and being honest, much harder than I thought but I'm proud that I completed the challenge despite having my own personal health flare up - that definitely wasn't in the script!

Thank again to everyone that donated.  I have been truly touched by the generosity of everyone and I know that together we can help share the awareness of this horrible disease and reduce its impact on our loved ones.

Firstly thanks so much for reading this page. 
I’ve decided to run 100miles in May to help raise awareness and hopefully saves lives.

I found about melanoma the hard way.  A fantastic friend of mine (Karla with a K), has been given the prognosis no one wants to hear. I see her fighting every day. I see the effects the medication has on her. I witness how it affects not just her life but everyone that knows and loves her - and that’s a heck of a lot of people.

Let me tell you a little about ‘Karla with a K’. She came into my life to work at my Cattery. Within minutes I knew she was going to be a lifelong friend. I respect and admire her more than words can say. She only has goodness in her heart and whilst no one deserves to be ill, she should be at the front of the queue of people that don’t deserve it.

But life has given her these cards and I’d like to help give back to everyone in the world that has to face what she does. If the awareness and potential money I raise can help to save just one life being lost then I will be so grateful.

A bit about me. Karla with a K tells me I’m mad. She tells me that with my chronic health conditions (<50% lung capacity amongst a whole heap of other delights) I shouldn’t do it. But I’ve never been good at listening to reason. I credit my tenacity (although most people would say stubbornness)  as one of the reasons I won’t let my illness run my life - although believe me it does try its best.

Will i succeed? I honestly don’t know. But what I can tell everyone that is kind enough to donate, is that I’ll give it my very best shot.
