My story
My Great Nanny Holley... known as Vera Holley or Holley to many has raised thousands of pounds through her love and commitment to fundraising events over her years.
Great Nanny's fundraising work was carried out under the Vera Holley Charitable Trust, and in 2007 alone she raised £15,500 to help purchase equipment for Good Hope Hospital. In recognition of her dedication, a ward was named after her in 2008 - The Vera Holley CDU.
Sadly in 2017 Great Nanny was diagnosed with the awful disease of Dementia and was unable to continue her fundraising, she later passed away on 28th Feb 2026.
Needless to say I am incredibly proud of everything Great Nanny achieved and the love she poured into fundraising.
My Great Nanny has left a huge legacy and in her memory I would like to do something I know she would be immensely proud of and continue fundraising on her behalf. I have chosen to run the Sutton fun run and to raise funds for Dementia UK and the UHB charitable fund which were both very close to Holley's and our family hearts.
