Big Berkeley Biathlon- FULL CHALLENGE TEAM

From the 4-6th September, a core team of fundraisers will be taking on the Big Berkeley Biathlon, a three-day challenge from Birmingham to London, involving two marathon walks bookending a 159km cycle ride. The team includes:

Supporting two of the Berkeley Foundation’s partners working to support young people experiencing homelessness, the challenge starts from St Basils Live and Work in Birmingham and finishing three days later at New Horizon Youth Centre in London.
 
Youth homelessness is rising and 54% of people forced to sleep rough do so before the age of 25.  Last year, over 120,000 young people faced homelessness. This challenge highlights two organisations in different cities that share a common goal: supporting young people on their journey from crisis to stability and independence.
 
Together, our team is aiming to raise £50,000 to support the vital work of these two organisations to ensure that more young people have access to the support they need, when they need it most.
 
St Basils is both a charity and a housing association with a track record of over 50 years of providing a holistic range of accommodation and support services to young people aged 16 - 25 who are homeless, vulnerable or at risk in the West Midlands.
 
New Horizon Youth Centre provides day centre, outreach and remote services support for young people aged 16-24 in London to overcome barriers and solve homelessness for good by offering expert help in health, safety, youth work and, access to housing.
