Big Brodie Paddle

We all know how Big Man Brodie loves to paddle in the river - so we decided to take to the river ourselves.

This summer's sponsored challenge involves two of the Brodie Aunties paddling 'Hawaii 5.0' style along the River Severn from Bridgnorth to Arley, a total of 10 miles! (The third Aunty will be rescue back up providing transport, dry clothes and essential tea and cake supplies - because who wants to get wet when you can be sipping tea?!)

Will we fall in? - there is every chance!
Can we steer the thing in a straight line? - Who knows, we could circle quite a lot!
How often will we swear? - too many times to count!

Regardless of how we perform on the day, please sponsor our efforts — we need all the support we can get, and maybe a lifeguard or two!

After all, our paddling skills are as questionable as a cat trying to swim, our sense of direction is as reliable as a broken compass and the odds of us staying dry are about as good as a snowball’s chance in a sauna!

For those who dont know about Brodie;
Brodie was a dog in desperate need of a safe haven - in 2022 he was stuck in boarding kennels with nowhere else to go. Julia, Kate and Ronnie took up his cause and after many months managed to find Brodie a safe space at Dun-Roamin Sanctuary...where Brodie now spends his days well cared for and home!

It costs the charity £450 a month to keep Brodie safe and well and this is what we try and raise throughout the year. His Aunties work hard to raise money for the Charity to help pay to look after him.
