My story

In memory of our amazing, loving, superhero 2 for 1 parent, our mum Ranji Uthayashanker, we are walking 4.7 miles from New Malden station (mum’s home town for over 40 years and where we grew up) to St George's Hospital's Maxillofacial Department, where mum was the Head of Radiography before retiring in 2020.

Mum gave and raised money to various charities throughout her life and in recent years, following a kidney transplant, she organised and completed a walking challenge herself, raising thousands of pounds for the National Kidney Federation.

We would like to raise money for two of mum's chosen charities; Save The Children and Kidney Care UK, as well as for Princess Alice Hospice who looked after mum (and us) with such grace and love in her final months.

Hope everyone is doing well! 😃

Very sorry for the late update; we completed the walk! The sun was shining for us and we took a scenic route through lots of woodland; mum would have been very happy!

I won’t be uploading photos here as it’s a public page and there were small children with us. However if you have Rav or I on Instagram we have posted there. 

Thank you all for your generosity and if you joined us on the walk too. Can’t believe we have raised over £5000 for charities that mean so much to mum and us!
