Vaughan Freeman is raising money for Northumbria Blood Bikes
My story
Blood saves lives. As a blood donor, and having just moved to the North East, I will be running the 2022 Great North Run to raise money for Northumbria Blood Bikes. This unsung bunch of volunteer heroes help save lives every day. Whatever the weather, they are out delivering life-saving blood, plasma, even surgical instruments and vital medical documents, to air ambulance helicopters, hospitals and GPs. From pennies to pounds, every donation is more than welcome.

The Great North Run is not until September, but I thought I'd get in some early training and I did the Craster to Bamburgh half marathon at the weekend. And finished! All good so far!
