Appeal for SRREF Education Fund

In August 2019, members from Byoma Kusuma Buddhadharma Sangha UK will be running 10K and 5K races to raise funds for The Sridhar Rana Rinpoche Education Fund (SRREF).

SRREF is a special project that offers financial support to individuals who want to pursue higher education in Buddhism or related field/subjects such as humanities or science, e.g. languages, therapeutic studies, meditation effect on physiology and psychology. This fund is available to all nationals who wish to pursue higher studies at instutions in selected regions in Asia only.

During last year's race over £650 was raised by generous donations. The funds were used to support to two new candidates, both of whom were monastics, to fund their Buddhist Studies courses in Sri Lankan universities.

The SRREF fund also continued the funding of an existing beneficiary with her nursing course.

Each year, we receive more applications requesting funding, especially from individuals from low income background. Your generous donations, whether big or small, will ensure the continued success of SRREF and that more and more candidates can benefit from its financial awards.
