Unit for the blind at Masasi Primary, South Tanzania

In Tanzania, there is a primary school - Masasi Primary School and within this school there is a unit for 45 albino and blind children.

When my Grandpa retired from teaching he denoted the money he was gifted in his retirement to The Friends of Masasi and Newala, a charity that seeks the relief of poverty, the advancement of education or the provision of health care in the dioceses of Masasi and Newala in Southern Tanzania.  In 2019 Grandpa made a trip to visit this school …and has been fundraising for it for many years. It’s relatively hidden, not glossy and without celebrity endorsement and as such, it’s really hard to generate significant funds and when there’s so much deserving demand everywhere we look.
However, never to be defeated and in his 80th year Grandpa wants to raise (another) £10,000 to fund the refurbishment of the unit’s kitchen building and installation of gas cooking equipment. The blind children are boarders and are currently reliant on wood stoves. They require new ovens and utensils.
It’s a basic as that.
Oh! and if there’s any change, medical eye treatment They don’t have a health service - everything is £££
My brother and sister are doing their bit too; a chocolate competition and cake sales 🤩 as this is our combined birthday gift to Grandpa and most importantly, for children experiencing life very differently to ourselves.

In the style of Andrew Simpson, I have designed three greetings cards; The Lion, The Elephant and The Giraffe. They are 5x7”, printed on uncoated 350gsm card,each with a Kraft envelope and packaged as a set of 3 for
