My story
Three crazy cold-water swimming ladies - Blue Tits for Brodie! - are aiming to swim a mile early on Saturday in a former quarry to raise money for Brodie the dog's continuing costs at Dun Roamin' Rehoming sanctuary. Big Man Brodie's Facebook page has to raise £450 a month to support Brodie at his sanctuary.
Julia has recently taken up cold-water swimming and is being joined by swimming friends Lisa and Jo in the challenge to swim a mile (or more, depending on the temperature) between them on 14th June. The water temperature is currently 14C, which is still officially considered 'cold'; swimming pools normally have a temperature of approx 26-28C.

My updates
We did it! A mile in open water... 90 minutes to swim, still shivering, but a real sense of achievement. And we remembered to shake our eyes as Brodie advised!
