Team UBS REPM London are raising money for Boost Charitable Trust
As many of you will remember, in March 2017 our colleague Sam Sananes sadly passed away after a short period of illness.
In his memory we are taking part in Boost Charitable Trust's Inaugural London Iconic Sports Arena Walk which will take place on Friday, 23 June 2023. This will be a challenging 23-mile (37 kilometres) walk passing 23 sports venues around London. The walk will start at the Wimbledon All England Tennis Club and finish at Lord's Cricket Ground going via Twickenham Rugby Stadium and Chelsea Football Stadium on the way.
The Walk will raise money for 23 sports programmes, a number of which are part of the Sam Sananes Sporting Legacy which with the support of Sam’s wife and family was launched by Boost Charitable Trust in Sam’s name. The Legacy aids sports activities for the disadvantaged and disabled and makes awards across a range of fields that were relevant to Sam, to inspire and help people to overcome their challenges through the power of sport.
Boost Charitable Trust is a grant-giving charity and was set up in 2005. Its mission is to fund inspiring projects which help to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and disabled through the power of sport. Since inception they have granted awards amounting to over £2.3 million and been involved with nearly 70 different types of sport. Boost focuses on helping people in five main areas: physical and learning disabilities, financial hardship, mental health, social exclusion, and medical research and relief. Current projects include inclusive tennis coaching sessions for children and adults with disabilities, an inspiring rugby programme to help children in a financially hard-pressed area of the North West, a Saturday football club for refugees and asylum seekers, and a fantastic table-cricket programme for children with learning disabilities.
Your sponsorship and support is really appreciated. All the money received by Boost goes directly to the charitable projects, helping more people to have the opportunity to improve their lives through sport.
