Our story

As a Team we wanted to challenge ourselves physically and mentally this year and have decided to take on a wet, muddy and  cold obstacle course in early spring. We (Chloe, Occy, Emily, Georgie, Sam, Joel & Joe) aim to complete as a team rather than individuals.

We hope this may also be an opportunity to help some great causes close to the hearts of some of the team. Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) & Myton Hospice.

Cardiac Risk in the Young
Nominated by Occy

On 3rd October 2023 Leigh Remington (46) unexpectedly tragically died of a cardiac arrest at home with his loving wife and two boys. Leigh was a close friend of mine and larger than life character. He was fun, crazy, energetic, thoughtful, successful - and a brilliant Dad, son, brother, friend and husband.

We are raising money for a great charity CRY that aims to save young lives from fatal cardiac conditions. CRY are continuing to support the process in exploring why this happened to Leigh and support his family members with any underlying fatal cardiac conditions.

Please help us raise money to potentially save another Dad, Mum, Brother, Sister, friend to a sudden fatal cardiac arrest, and not leave a family without their loved one. Thank you.

Myton Hospice
Nominated by Emily & Chloe

Myton Hospice believes that everyone matters for every single moment of their life and that treating patients with dignity and respect is more important than meeting targets. They are currently making an urgent appeal to raise £240,000 which could fund 5 registered nurses for a year, to ensure more people in Coventry and Warwickshire can access a hospice bed.  Demand for their inpatient units has increased by 11% in the last 12 months.  Tragically, 3 out of 5 people on the waiting list will die before they can access one.  It is this urgent and heart-breaking situation that we are aiming to tackle with their new appeal and they are calling on our support.

Myton Hospice in Coventry was amazing with my family after the passing of my grandad, they are really calming, empathetic and offer to support the every member of the family afterwards and even offer a support programme to the younger children in the family. They let any number of visitors in and even pets to visit the patients. They also invite the family members back for a memorial service for them.
