Burundi Flood Relief
Event date: 28th February 2014
Vicki Haxton is raising money for African Revival Ministries (UK)
My story
At least 50 people are reported to have died after floods and landslides hit the Burundi capital, Bujumbura. As of today over 130 are reported to have lost their lives and this number is expected to rise. The BBC's Cyiriaque Muhawenayo in the city says it is not yet possible to give accurate figures because bodies may be hidden in the mud or under debris. My parents (Alex and Rita) are travelling to Burundi on Thursday, timing is perfect as they will be able to to give immediate help and support and assess the situation further.
