Camino Strollers are raising money for DFN UK and Motor Neurone Disease Association
Walking 525 miles , 15 miles a day for 35 days .
The Camino Strollers are walking the Camino De Santiago from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port in the south of France to Santiago de Compostela in western Spain one of the oldest pilgrim walks in the world . We will be walking over 525 miles , an average of 15 miles a day for 35 consecutive days. By any measure it's a significant challenge and we wanted that effort to support two important charities . Sadly On June 29th 2019 one of the Strollers wives Marjory Daldry passed away with Motor Neurone Disease and as yet there is still no clear understanding of the cause of this cruel debilitating disease and as such no cure . We want to raise funds for continued research to find a cure and to support those with the disease knowing that on average they will have 2 years to live from diagnosis . In addition we want to support DFN -Dignity Freedom Network a charity supported by Marjory and her family providing education for thousands of the poorest children from marginalised communities in India , supporting economic empowerment through vocational training , healthcare for the poor though clinics and community health workers and anti trafficking support to the vulnerable . DFN have a desperate need for new dental equipment for their clinic in Hyderabad providing dental care for the poor in that city . We all know what its like to have toothache .....imagine not being able to afford treatment and living with that pain . ......but you can help . Please support us in our walk which although challenging its nothing compared to the challenges of those we seek to raise funds for in the weeks ahead . We appreciate you taking the time to read our story and hope you are moved to support us . Thank you .
