My story

On 11th October, I’ll be running a half-marathon at Cannock Chase to raise money and awareness for DEBRA, the charity supporting people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), often known as “butterfly skin.”

EB is a rare genetic condition that causes the skin to blister and tear from even the slightest friction or touch. For children and adults living with the condition, everyday things that many of us take for granted like getting dressed, walking, eating or even receiving a hug can cause pain and injury.

Throughout my career in wound care, I’ve seen the important role that innovative products and dedicated healthcare professionals play in supporting patients living with EB.

DEBRA provides vital support to individuals and families affected by EB, while also funding research and working towards better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

I’d love to raise as much as possible to support the incredible work that DEBRA does, while also helping to raise awareness of this devastating condition.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be massively grateful. Every contribution can make a difference to people and families living with EB.

Thank you so much for your support!
