Caesar's Camp 100

Event date: 22nd October 2011

Paul H is raising money for Children in Distress

My story

Caesar's Camp 100 is a 100 mile running race in Hampshire, UK. For further information on the event please look at caesarscampenduranceruns.co.uk/

This is the first time I have attempted to run this distance and my primary goal is to get to the finish line. My secondary goal is to get there in under 24 hours. I have previously completed Ironman triathlons.
When choosing to take part in this event I hadn't considered doing it for charity, but having met the committee and their fund raisers I thought that this would be an ideal opportunity to raise some cash for a very worthy cause.

Children in Distress is a small charity and its mission "Is to offer love and care to children living with HIV AIDS or other incurable or terminal illness?. CiD believes that no child should be left frightened and alone, in pain, in the dark, dirty, abandoned and abused. No child should have to die without medication to ease their pain, without someone to comfort them and a hand to hold.

Since 1990 the volunteers and staff of Children in Distress have been bringing love and care to the suffering, abandoned and forgotten children of Eastern Europe, irrespective of their race, religion or creed.
Their motto is "To cure, sometimes; To help, often; To comfort, always".
