Mulanje Mountain hike

Event date: 2nd May 2010

Celeste Loots is raising money for Malawi Association For Christian Support

My story

Thank you very much to all who have contributed to my recent fundraising event. This event has raised £258.50 which is really encouraging. Thanks especially to my friends at Gateway Christian Fellowship, Tina Everett and Stephen Hayward. If your donation is not showing on my page its because I have sent a cheque directly to MACS as you wanted your donation to include gift aid.

I will be making an ascent of the 1000m landmark mountain in Malawi, namely Mulanje, in 2010, once I have raised enough funds for MACS . This hike will be done with a local guide and porter to support the local economy as much as possible. Some days will be spent traversing the mountain from hut to hut, enjoying the scenery. I would like to have a few hiking companions who would like to do this sponsored hike as well in order to raise funds towards projects supported by MACS such as orphan care. There are so many children who have lost their parents to HIV-AIDS, and community projects help these children to keep attending school, plus they have after school activities that teach the children skills that will help them earn a living for themselves. Gift aid will help to increase the amount raised quite considerably, as a little bit of money in pounds goes a long way in Malawian Kwacha. I will be holding some smaller events to raise money towards my self-set target.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Malawi Association For Christian Support.
