miss.surrey is raising money for EQUIPE
On March 20, I am flying out from Heathrow to Katmandu, until April 13, to trek the Annapurna Circuit.
I am raising money for the 'Fill the Plate' feeding programme, which is a part of the charity Equipe.
Please support the charity by sponsoring me and raising more money through online shopping via Give as you Live.
Thank you :)
About the trek:
This trail was first opened in 1977 and is a classic Himalayan trek. Our itinerary completes the Circuit with a few new variations that will enhance this magnificent trek. We ascend the Marsyandi Valley before heading to the wild, windswept 5416m Thorong La (pass) and around the Annapurna massif. This trek offers startling contrasts throughout. The trails start and end in the lush green foothills of the Annapurna range that are dotted with Hindu villages. As we trek north of the Great Himalayan Divide there is a dramatic change as we enter the stark landscape of the Tibetan Plateau where the culture becomes predominantly Buddhist. We then head back down the great Kali Gandhaki Valley, said to be one of the deepest gorges on earth with Annapurna and Dhaulagiri towering some 7,000 metres above before returning to Pokhara where we complete our exhilarating trek.
