Charlie's Solent Swim 2020

I am once again swimming across the Solent from the mainland to the Isle of Wight, on 29 August. I am slightly bonkers to be trying for my 5th crossing (by swimming!). This is a challenging sea swim in some of the UK's most tidal waters. Not to mention crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, in the choppy waters. Whilst this seems a bit extreme to save on a ferry ticket, it's all in aid of raising funds for charity, the West Wight Sports Centre Trust. This receives no state funding and is under severe funding pressure as a result of the pandemic shutdown. It provides much needed sporting, recreational and rehabilitation services to disabled and disadvantaged members of this rural community. All funds will be put to good use keeping the centre open and the services going.
