Cherise & Joe Run for Leeds North and West Foodbank

This year, we’re taking on the Leeds Half Marathon together to support the Leeds North and West Foodbank - a cause that’s close to our hearts.

We’re lucky to have a stable home, regular meals, and the support of family and friends. But that isn’t the reality for everyone in our community. Right now, more and more people across the UK are having to turn to foodbanks just to get by - last year alone in Leeds, 18,344 people needed food parcels with 35% of those supported being children.

Our local foodbank provides vital, immediate support to people facing hardship, offering not just food but dignity, compassion, and a lifeline during difficult times. Demand continues to rise and donations make a real, practical difference.

Running a half-marathon is no small task for either of us, but it feels like a meaningful way to give something back. Every mile we run will be fuelled by the hope that fewer people will have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
