James Hunt is raising money for Nanny Biscuit

My story

Hello everyone so i'm really pleased to announce that Cafgas CIC is a partner of 'A Grand Week In Wales' Grand Week in Wales is an event that will launch from Feb 22nd and run until St David’s Day on Monday 1st March 2022.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Our Grand Week in Wales is an event to help key charities that support the most vulnerable in our communities across Wales and to bring people together through fundraising events, to combat isolation and spread positivity in a time when we need it most.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The name given is in recognition of Wales’ 1,000-mile circumference, and the event delivers a variety of community challenges based around the theme of 1000, all in the lead up to St David’s Day 2022 (Monday 1st March).

🏆 We are encouraging everyone, of all ages and abilities, to join in our grand Welsh activities throughout the month of February. We have set a number of challenges based around the number 1000 that you can participate in, at home, school, or on your daily exercise routine, all with COVID safety and regulations in mind. We also welcome you to come up with your own challenges on this theme to help our community and fundraise.

🏃‍♀️ The main feature of a Grand Week in Wales campaign is to virtually travel the 1000-mile Welsh circumference, launching from the home of Nanny Biscuit, at the start of Wales’ Coastal Path in Deeside.

🏞 We hope all of you can partake in a virtual relay simulating travelling around the circumference of Wales using any means available. You can run, walk, cycle, row at home on a treadmill or exercise machine, or as part of your daily outdoor exercise.

🏅 With a start finish, the first mile will be run by Great Britain's Para Olympic Bronze medal winner in 2012 and Welsh athlete Beverly Jones.

Other activities you can get involved with as part of a Grand Week in Wales are:

📮 1000 letters and St David’s Day cards between old and young

🌼 1000 art Daffodils in partnership with Marie Curie

🎵 1000 musical performances in partnership with YAB Hub, Wrexham

👨‍🍳 1000 Welsh cakes

🥘 1000 meals for our homeless in partnership with Fare Share

👴 1000 meals for our elderly and vulnerable in partnership with Newydd Catering & Cleaning

♻️ 1000 bags of plastic recycled by litter picking in association with Green Paw Project & One Global Ocean

💕 1000 acts of kindness from the community

🙏🏻 We also welcome you to come up with your own challenges on this theme to help our community and fundraise.

💷 All monies raised for A Grand Week in Wales is distributed in the following way; 20% to Nanny Biscuit to combat food poverty, isolation and loneliness, with the remainder evenly distributed between our brilliant national partner organisations;
