Chris Davies is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity
On May 14th I'm running the Leeds Marathon to raise money for people with MND, including one of my favourite rugby league players - Rob Burrow.
Before leaving Yorkshire I used to be a season ticket holder for the Leeds Rhinos, attending matches with my brother. This was in the mid-2000s, when Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow were titans of the game: seeing Burrow tackle a man twice his size or bob and weave his way across the try line at lightning speed were highlights of any match and made for some happy times.
Burrow and his family's battle with MND is equal parts humbling and heart-breaking, but the dignity with which they have met the struggle; the camaraderie of the Rugby League world; and the brotherhood and determination with which Kevin Sinfield has supported his friend and raised funds and awareness for MND research is inspirational.
If you can spare a few pounds to support MND research and the creation of a facility to properly care for people with MND in the Leeds area, I'd be really grateful. Thanks x
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.
