Chris Townsend is raising money for The Lord's Taverners
After last year's first experience of a marathon, this year, I am taking on two! Paris on April 7th will be followed by London on April 21st (assuming that I can still move). I am delighted that The Lord's Taverners have again agreed to include me in their team for London, and my fundraising across both marathons will be in support of their brilliant work.
If I can keep fit, my hope is to complete the two marathons in a combined time of under 7 hours. Please do support the Taverners in any way that you can - they are changing lives every day with their fantastic work.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.

Thank you to everyone for your incredible support of the Lord's Taverners and of me personally. After finishing Paris in 3 hours 9 minutes and 50 seconds, I was expecting to be a bit slower in London. Instead, in near perfect conditions (apart from the odd strong gust of wind), and cheered on by half a million supporters, I ran home in 3 hours 4 minutes 20. In total, I think that I have raised (including gift aid) about £4k for Lord's Taverners, which is fantastic. Thank you so much - whether you have given money to the charity, or just said a kind word, it has all made a difference.
I am now officially retired from marathon running, although I might have to rethink that once the legs are fully recovered!

Thank you to everyone who has been so generous with their support of the Lord's Taverners so far! I completed the first Marathon in Paris on Sunday in a time of 3 hours 9 minutes. This was ahead of schedule, and means that I can hopefully get under 6 hours 30 minutes for Paris and London combined when I go again a week on Sunday.
Back to some light training today and any further support for the charity would be a great way to inspire me to keep on going round London!

Pictured with my training partner after completing a 20 mile run on Saturday. Just two weeks to go now until the Paris Marathon and then another two until the London Marathon. Hoping the body holds up after covering over 770 km since the beginning of January.
Aiming for completion of both in under 7 hours in support of the amazing Lord's Taverners. Please do support this wonderful charity if you can!
Your donations will help the great work The Lord's Taverners do.
