Claire Raftery is raising money for The George Pantziarka Tp53 Trust
I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money in memory of my close friend's son Oscar. Oscar passed away aged 4 after being diagnosed with cancer at 19 months old. He had Li Fraumeni Syndrome, a rare hereditary genetic disorder that increases the risk of developing cancer.
The George Pantziarka TP53 Trust is the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting families with Li Fraumeni Syndrome and related conditions. It offers practical support and advice, publishes information for patients and doctors alike and is dedicated to making a difference with research. The charity helped my friends during Oscar's illness in providing information about clinical trials and support.
Oscar was cheeky, fun and had an infectious smile. He lived his best life and my daughter loved having playdates with him.
