My story

Now that we are over a year post treatment and doing great I have decided to take on a challenge this year to raise funds for 3 charities that really helped the whole family during my daughter's treatment.

  • Angel Wishes
  • Children's cancer unit charity
  • Cancer fund for children

Each of these charities provide invaluable support to families at some of the worst times any parent could ever imagine. The staff are all amazing and do so much for all the children and families in their care.

Over the year I'm going to run several races including 3 main headline races:

  • - Walled City 10 miles
  • - Belfast City Marathon
  • - Dublin City Marathon

Along with some other warm up races, plus the CCUC Stormont mile & the CFFC Bog run.

I've never run a marathon before but I'm going to attempt 2 in 1 year.... at nearly 50 yrs old :-)

I'm not doing this alone and have recruited some help! My brother in law Eoin & my nephew James have for some mad reason agreed to run the full Belfast marathon with me!

As well as this my wonderful wife karen has convinced some close friends, Mairead, Susan, Catherine & Christine to run the Belfast Marathon relay alongside me.

I'm hoping to have some other relay teams too and currently working on twisting some arms!

I will be hoping to chart the year on social media as I try to run 2 marathons in one year having never run a marathon before! I have already started training and will be hoping to arrange a couple of other events alongside to boost the fundraising.

Thanks for all the support
