Martin Hill is raising money for FRIENDS OF DOUBLE JOY
Hey all, as some of you may be aware me and Dave are heading out to Kenya this summer to visit a little school/farm called Double Joy. There is info below about the charity, but essentially it?s a great place that contributes massively to improving the lives of a lot of kids.
Anyway, in a moment of madness we have decided to try and raise a bit of money by going on a bloody long cycle (about 100 miles).
To all those fitness freaks out there may mock a meagre 100 miles: trust me this will be a real challenge, I?ve not cycled in about 12 years, and combined with kipping in a tiny 2 man tent I promise you I will hurt by the end. I?m not winging but I wanted to explain that this will really push us and hopefully you will feel that is worth you donating your pennies (or pounds) :D
Info about Double Joy:
Double Joy Children?s Farm is a home and school for children orphaned by AIDS in Kenya. Double Joy was started in 1994 by Mary Hinde after she witnessed AIDS becoming a major cause of death in the community in which she?d been teaching for 20 years. Double Joy is supported almost entirely by donations from the UK and USA. Please visit double-joy.org.uk
Friends of Double Joy (UK Charity no.1087172) was formed in 2002 to raise regular funds for Double Joy . 90 children now live there, with their siblings, in family style units plus, from November 2008, we also support 7 elderly people from the locality whose children had died of AIDS. As well as this the money raised supports the further education of 30 school leavers who grew up at Double Joy.
Over the last 15 years Double Joy Childrens Farm has saved the lives of hundreds of children, please support us in keeping it going?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME (AND HOPEFULLY YOUR MONEY)
ANYTHING YOU CAN GIVE WILL BE MASSIVELY APPRECIATED!!!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto FRIENDS OF DOUBLE JOY.
