My story

I am honoured to be included in the Spring activity in Nepal where Cricket without Boundaries will work alongside local Changemakers to deliver Cricket coaching as a vehicle to raise awareness around equality and diversity.
I have been an advocate of inclusion for long time and have often spoken about the ability of cricket to provide opportunities for people from differing backgrounds, with varied abilities and working towards personal goals to participate together.

My updates

Just "WOW"

been home now for 48 hours and every time I'm asked how the trip was I seem to recall one particular high, whilst the country was amazing, a huge contrast to the UK, the team that came together were fantastic friendships made and the thirst for involvement and participation was inspiring.
For me it was all about the people, the 3600 children that we somehow managed to keep entertained with cricket skills, funny walks and entertaining demos! I've been looking back at my photos and there's this constant theme, it's the smiles. You see real enjoyment, these children are hitting a tennis off a cone with a plastic bat and absolutely loving it. Even after we'd finished the session the smiles continued and they were seriously infectious, i will never forget the looks on these faces and the un-bridled joy in their eyes. Thank you NEPAL

So today we started our second week having moved to Lahan, a 2 hour drive on the unfinished International Highway. Lahan has a well used cricket ground and lots of passionate people keen to play.
We split the group across 7 schools today and worked with local support coaches for maximum reach and saw some great potential in the children highlight for me was Mount Everest school, could say it was the high point ;-) , where the children and staff really brought into the project. Two more days here then onto Rajbiraj.

Today was our last schools coaching day here in Biratnagar, we did 4 more schools today and 420+ children engaged in skills and games. In the heat it is truly amazing how they are constantly ready for more. The team here and the local changemakers have put in the hard yards, tomorrow we will be supporting a schools tournament where teams from 8 schools will be competing and we will help with officiating. Looking forward to the next move from here for a change of scenery and some new challenges.

Our first full day in Nepal and a fantastic introduction to the country, it's people and it's passion for cricket.  We were blessed to coach in a school for the deaf which was a real privilege to see how they engage not only with us but with each other. The Peer to Peer support demonstrated how they overcome barriers and accept each other as equals, an example to us all.

with less than 3 weeks to go until we are on the ground in Nepa with the Local Changemakers it was great to get together with the team and the wider Cricket Without Boundaries family to learn about the schedule and get lots of insight into the trip.
