Cycling for children

Event date: 10th July 2022

Natalia Karlina is raising money for St Gregory's Foundation

My story

This summer, I am cycling 167 km from Briançon to Alpe d’Huez with 4,700 m elevation gain to raise money for St Gregory’s Foundation. Here is the link to the event -

It might not sound like a challenge to some of you, but it is for me for a few reasons:

- I only started road cycling in August 2021.

- I got my first road bike in November 2021.

- I have already cycled 200 km in a day but not to that elevation.

- I have never cycled in the mountains.

- The race is happening on the 10th of July in the mid-summer heat, which is going to be a major challenge for me.

I am a very motivated person, but I also know my limitations, so I need something to cycle for.

I decided to support a charity that is very close to my heart. It is a UK-registered charity helping vulnerable children and families in the former Soviet Union countries. Here is what St Gregory’s Foundation does:

- Helping disabled children and teenagers with communication difficulties to connect to the world so they can become as independent as possible.

- Providing education, training and skills to graduates from orphanages to give them a good start in life.

- Helping young parents who grew up in orphanages to bond with their children and keep their family.

- Empowering children and families living with impaired hearing to take a full part in their communities.

- Giving security, care and food aid to disadvantaged children.

- Offering legal support, security and training to street children and teenagers to help them integrate into a wider society.

I am fundraising to support this charity. If you can chip in, even a little, or share this post, it will make a huge difference. Thank you so much for your support!

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto St Gregory's Foundation.
